Monterrey.

Monterrey is the only Mexican host city not staging a home-nation game — Mexico plays elsewhere — but its striking, Cerro de la Silla-framed Estadio BBVA draws a tight group-stage cluster plus a Round of 32 knockout. The free FIFA Fan Festival at Parque Fundidora runs the full tournament window, June 11–July 19.

Getting Around

The smart-money logistics.

Transit to the stadium

Estadio BBVA sits in Guadalupe, about 10 km east of downtown Monterrey. There's no Metro station at the gate — the usual matchday combo is Metrorrey (Line 1/2) plus the Ecovía BRT and local feeder buses toward Guadalupe, with extra service expected on game days. Build in buffer time; the last leg is by bus or rideshare.

From the airport (MTY)

Monterrey International (MTY) is roughly 20–25 km from Estadio BBVA. No direct transit link — use authorized airport taxis/vans (prepaid kiosks) or Uber/DiDi from the pickup zone; budget 25–45 min depending on traffic.

Where to stay

Base in central Monterrey (Barrio Antiguo / Fundidora) for the Fan Festival and nightlife, then ride out to Guadalupe for matches; San Pedro Garza García is the upscale option. Stadium-area hotels are limited, so plan transit either way.
