Vancouver.

Vancouver hosts seven World Cup matches at downtown's BC Place, and the big draw is Canada playing two group-stage games here on home soil. The free FIFA Fan Festival runs all tournament long at Hastings Park (PNE).

Getting Around

The smart-money logistics.

Take SkyTrain — use Main St–Science World on match days

On match days TransLink directs fans to Main Street–Science World station, which connects to 'The Last Mile' walking route to BC Place's primary entrance at Carrall St & Pacific Blvd. The Stadium–Chinatown stadium-side (Expo Blvd) entrance is closed on match days. TransLink runs trains roughly every 2–2.5 minutes around kickoff and extends service an hour later on late-night matches (June 13, 26 and July 2).

Fan Festival is at the PNE, not downtown

The free FIFA Fan Festival is at Hastings Park (PNE) in East Vancouver — a separate trip from BC Place. Use transit; road closures and controlled zones surround both sites on event days.

Arriving via YVR

Vancouver International Airport connects to downtown directly on the Canada Line SkyTrain (~25 minutes). For BC Place on match days, transfer toward Main Street–Science World for the walking route, since Canada Line stations near the stadium have limited stadium-side access on game days.

Where to stay

Downtown / Yaletown puts you within walking or short-transit distance of BC Place. Anywhere on a SkyTrain line works well given the road closures — transit beats driving on match days.
